I have been using Daily Money Log when I was abroad ( see post here.) Though it was tedious, it has served me well, like I swear!. But now, I am not using that style anymore. I'm using "Envelope Method":

Here are my categories with corresponding budget (close up pictures below):
- Food and Expenses : Php 2,000 ( PHP 500 each week)
- Stark and Pepper: Php 800
- MECO ( Electricity): Php 700
- MCWD (Water) : Php 200
- PLDT : Php 1,299
- Cellphone : Php 299
- Homeowner's Association Fee: Php 250
- Fun : Php 500
- Personal (Hygiene,etc.): Php 500
Note: There are weeks that I only get to spend less than Php 500 for my Food and Expenses, what I do is whatever is the change for that week, I put it in my "Fun" category so I get to have "FUN" ( watch movie, buy book, etc. things like that.)
How about you, what budgeting style are you using?
I use the formula income-savings=expenses formula. Di ko magawa yang envelope method kasi baka magbutingting si mother dear sa cabinet ko. Hahaha.

Ako din, may isa akong accordion type envelope tapos nalalagyan ko din ng mga receipts ng tubig and water and whatnot.

Ako naman, I have an excel spreadsheet to track all expenses and I mean almost all (may resibo man o wala). It gives me an idea on where we kind of lose ourselves the most. Like when we first arrive, puros cleaning materials and beautification items ang binibili namin.

yah, mura talaga eh kasi I don't do pure dog food. I mix 'em up with veggies and corn grits. Mahal kaya ng dog food oi.

Mine is Money Jar, la lang gusto ko lang nakikita namomotivate ako hihi tsaka feeling ko lang mas effective yung budgeting pag nakikita ko sa bote, disadvantge lang takaw sa mata at ang bigat ng barya hahha
