I don't know how my phone got broken, but it just did. I must have dropped it or my little raptors just clawed it, who knows! (I call Stark and Pepper "raptors" after watching Jurassic World.) But the best thing about having cheap phone is you don't really care that much, you don't fret if it suddenly go kablam, you just don't coz it's cheap. Though I did have this "sayang" feeling at first but things get broken and at least it's not too expensive to replace , I consoled myself.
So I marched to Unitop and got myself the cheapest phone that was available in one of the cellshops there:
So I marched to Unitop and got myself the cheapest phone that was available in one of the cellshops there:
Brand: Qnet
Price: Php 399
Added Feature:
• It has built-in flashlight
• FM
• Free earphone
For Php399, I could not complain. Just the basic, just so I can text and call and just so people could reach me... just what I need. Nothing more, nothing less.
I wonder if this phone is the cheapest in the Philippine market? Hmmm.
Love ur new phone ate, :) I don't know what a unitop is tho, :) mebe that's the cheapest phone already ate :)
ReplyDeleteUnitop is like a store here that sell random stuffs. Kind of like mini SM but waaaaay to mini ha? hehe. They have different stores inside too so may cellshop doon. I bought my phone there, so yah.
DeleteI also bought a new phone. It's also a "flashlight phone". Pero mas mahal ng P300 sa phone mo. Pinagtatawanan ako ng mga officemates ko and even my husband, high tech daw ang phone ko. Ano naman ngayon as long as it's functional, right? I have a tablet naman where I can facebook and play COC.
ReplyDeleteSKK is also priced at 399. Yun sana bibilhin ko, di lang ako pinapansin nung tindero sa mall, porke ba tig 399 ang bibilhin ko. hehehe
My other SKK phone doesn't have a flashlight so I'm happy that the phone that I bought has flashlight. Mababaw lang kaligayahan natin sis! hehe.
DeleteYah, I have iPod Touch 4th gen so I really don't need a fancy phone. Just to be able to text and call and Im good.
You are not alone Miss Maria. I still use my Nokia 1110 blue color I bought since 2007 for buy1 take1. The take 1 I gave it to my mother but lasted only until 2013. It's just the bar type phone, black and yellow, however no flashlight. Battery is really good and long lasting. Just the basic call and text. I don't mind texting or calling in the crowd with it. Hahaha... :)
ReplyDeleteHaha! Back when Nokia phones were buy1take1! :) I also still have mine, I think it's the 1100, with flashlight. I forgot who got the "take 1", but I remember only paying 750 for that phone :D Still using it. :)
DeleteMadami pala tayo mga low-end phone user. Will use this till it dies para sulit ang Php 399. hehehe!
DeleteI have been a fan of your blogs since your abroad days and you have become my inspiration. I admire your outlook in life and how you live simply and frugally. Because of you I am taking steps for my pinas for good moment and like you, I am single so kayang kaya. I plan to go backpacking all over pinas - I know you are planning on doing that , too and I hope to bump in to you in one of my travels.
ReplyDeleteKeep the post coming. I enjoy and look forward to your Wet Market Sunday posts.
Love from Italy
Awww, that is too sweet! Now this gives me more reason to post my Wet Market goodies. hehehe!
DeleteSo far, 399 ang nakita kong cheapest brand (SKK Brand) basic phone lang din. Yan ang maganda kapag mura ang cp, di masakit sa dibdib pag nasira bigla :)
ReplyDeleteoo nga pero for cheap like us, masakit pa din if masira pero madali lang tayo maka get over! haha!
DeleteWow! Minsan when I get frustrated with my smartphone, I think of the time na you can really feel the keypad of your phone.
ReplyDeleteI salute you for living the simple life. I have been eaten by society and is holding a smartphone and all the other gadgets to 'stay connected'.
Yah, technology has been really getting faster and faster and sometimes, it is really tiring to chase the latest "it" thing when it comes to technology. Simplifying my choice of phone has been one of the best decision I've made.
ReplyDeleteOo nga no. Ako din, I really don't care much. If may magnanakaw, syempre pipiliin ang katabi mong nag sma-smart phone hindi ang phone natin. ehhehe.

DeleteI'm curious to know if you buy a new phone in the Philippines. Can you recommend an affordable phone with touchscreen. I plan to buy it for my mom since my siblings take ages to reply (a week) and they don't want to teach my mom how to use a phone. Thanks!
