Wet Market Sunday

I was thinking of buying avocado ( Php 40 per kilo; cheap since it's in season) to make dessert for a week (replacement for my Mung Beans Ice Cream dessert), but I forgot to buy evaporated milk, so I didn't buy avocados.

I didn't buy mangoes as well since it already climbed up to Php 60 per kilo and I still have 3 mangoes left from last week.

I should finish up my eggs  ( 5 pcs left) since it has been 2 weeks in the fridge and I'm afraid it'll go bad. I'll finish those eggs this week.

I was glad I bought my coin purse full of 25 cents. Two stores didn't short-changed me. Huzzah!

OPLAN Lower Electric Bill: Buying LPG ( Current Price of a 7kg Gasulito+Tank)

My friend was teasing me on how OA I was coz I was freakin' out super badly because of my Php 1,600 electric bill. Well yah, now that I a think of it, super OA nga ako nag freak out about my electric bill. It's way beyond my budget so I got to do some bad-ass Operation Plan Lower Electric Bill drama.

So, if you read my previous post, I wrote that I will buy LPG,  like ASAP and so I did....

Gasulito : ( I didn't buy the biggest one since my stove is only single burner and let's face it, it's only me and my brother here.)
Price: 7kg Cylinder (Tank) : Php 1,100
Gas inside: Php 450
LPG Regulator: ( I bought a wrong one at Ace Hardware so I needed to buy another one. I didn't get to buy the hose though since the one from Ace Hardware came with a hose so I used that one instead of buying another hose): Php 180

TOTAL: PHP 1,730

I bought my La Germania single burner gas stove few months ago and I didn't get to use it coz I was thinking that my La Germania electric stove (second picture below) won't eat up a lot of electricity. I was proven wrong.

Rest for now....

Let's see how low my electric bill can go!

Electricity Bill Report: From Php 657 to Php 1,670? What the Heck?!

Okay, so I just received my last month's electric consumption bill and when I looked at it, my mouth dropped. Over 100 percent freakin' more? What the heck is going on here?!

THE CULPRIT:

  • Electric Stove ( too much usage) : When I paid Php 657 last billing cycle ago, I was using electric stove so I thought it won't eat too much electricity, but I have been cooking more so maybe that's why.
  • Mung Beans Boiling: I have been posting how I'm currently obsessed with mung beans ice cream. I have been boiling my mung beans on the electric stove, which takes about 30 mins. Made 3 batches of it already. Yup, mung beans ice cream is one of the culprit.
  • Stark and Pepper's Bones: Been cooking the bones on the electric stove too which takes about 20 mins every Sunday. Though I have been doing it since the last billing cycle.
  • Electric Kettle: I think this is the major, major culprit. This is the only additional gadget that consumes electricity  I added last month.
  • Wielding Machine: So they, meaning the workmen, have been using wielding machine for the balcony ( one on second floor, one on the third floor) and for the spiral staircase. They aren't done yet.

ACTION PLAN:

  • Buy LPG, like ASAP!
  • Since I only boil bones and mung beans once a week, which is on Sundays, I will put this thing to good use:

This use to be my mom's. I just saw this while I was purging and de-cluttering. Do you know what this thing is? It's for when you cook stuff using charcoal. So yah, I'll use this once a week for an hour to hour and a half cooking my fave mung beans dessert and Stark and Pepper's bones. Don't worry, I will be watching this thing like a hawk to prevent fire. And I know how to use this thing. I grew up using this so yah.

  • Fan should be kept on number 2 or lower
  • No more electric kettle

Let's see how low will my next month's electric bill go by  doing the action plans I mentioned.
